Whether it’s a turtle gliding peacefully over the reefs of Playa del Carmen, the breathtaking coral- and sponge-covered drop-offs of Cozumel, or the mesmerizing interplay of light reflecting off rock formations sculpted over thousands of years in the submerged caves of the cenotes, every dive holds the promise of discovery, an unforgettable experience, and the chance to witness nature’s wonders in their purest form.

Our Facilities

We've created our dive center on a human scale, so that every diver or non diver who walks through the door feels at home... Slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of the city center, you'll be welcomed in the shade of a tropical garden...

At Dune, we want to offer you a space that combines comfort and hospitality, while maximizing operational ease for both customers and our team.

In our center you'll find a briefing area with dive maps and species identification posters, a chill-out area to enjoy a cool moment before or after diving, a large equipment rinse tank with drying area, showers and sanitary facilities.

Of course, we also have an “equipment” room with a technical workshop, where rental equipment can be safely stored and where you can be relieved of the hassle of having to collect your equipment after each of your underwater adventures.

The Team

Our international team welcomes you to share their passion for the underwater world and their love for Mexico. Supervised by guides and instructors certified by international organizations, you'll discover the wonders of the sea and land while improving your diving skills, from first dives to instructor training.

Our passionate and experienced guides know every corner of the region. They regularly attend refresher courses in first aid and other subjects.

In the event of equipment problems, our qualified technician is on hand to carry out any necessary repairs.

As all our diving activities take place in marine parks regulated by the Mexican authorities, all divers must be accompanied by a local, authorized guide, regardless of their level.

Ariadna

Booking Agent & DiveMaster

Ariadna Gardner, originally from Oaxaca, Mexico, has been a Divemaster for three years, diving around the world with a special love for Southeast Asia and the Mexican Caribbean. Now based in Playa del Carmen, she is passionate about ocean conservation and dreams of becoming a Scuba Instructor to share her love for the sea. Fun, caring, and enthusiastic, Ariadna’s energy and dedication make every dive an unforgettable experience!

Camille

Director General Dune Mexico

Camille Laquerrière has been passionate about the ocean since childhood and serves as the General Manager and Course Director of Dune Mexico Blue Dream. With over 20 years of experience as a diving instructor in the Riviera Maya, he has certified more than 5,500 divers, including over 1,500 PADI professionals. In 2008, he became a Course Director, reinforcing his commitment to quality dive training. Since 2018, Camille has been part of Dune Mexico as a Course Director and technical diving trainer, before taking over as General Manager in July 2020. Beyond diving, he is also passionate about travel and wildlife photography, constantly seeking to capture the beauty of the natural world. His dedication to excellence and love for diving make Camille an invaluable asset to our center, ensuring unforgettable underwater experiences for our clients.

Célia

Base Leader & Instructor

Célia is from France, South of Lyon. She arrived in Mexico to start 2025 with us, but she left France almost already 10 years ago. 7 years ago she was in Costa Rica where she did all her training, from Advanced to Instructor because she loves the feeling of breathing underwater. She grow up as a instructor for a while and decide to be more involve in the management. You will meet her in the office as a Base Leader and maybe also for some diving as she keep a passion for scuba diving and cant wait too long before to get salty again ! She speaks French, English & Spanish

Antoine

Manager Dune Playa Del Carmen

Antoine is originally from the south of France and has been diving since the age of 18. A travel enthusiast, he has explored underwater worlds across the globe before settling in Mexico in 2024—a country he has cherished for a long time. Now an instructor and manager of the Dune dive center in Playa del Carmen, Antoine is attentive to each guest, just like his team, making every dive a unique and friendly experience.

Mégane

Instructor

Mégane discovered diving in Mexico before heading to Bali, where she became an instructor after completing her Divemaster and IDC there. Now based in Playa del Carmen, she splits her time between the ocean and managing the dive center as Base Leader alongside Célia. Passionate, patient, and always smiling, she especially loves being underwater, where she can share her passion with divers of all levels.

Diane

Cenote Guide & Instructor

Diane, originally from France, completed her IDC at Dune Playa del Carmen in 2021. A passionate diver since the age of 16, she fell in love with the cenotes and Caribbean life. As a cenote guide and PADI instructor, Diane shares her love for the ocean and the unique treasures of the Yucatán. Caring and considerate, she provides special attention to each diver, making every experience unforgettable.

Jonny

Bodeguero & Equipment Technician

Jonathan Hernandez is a cheerful, easy-going and helpful person, always ready to help and find solutions. In the logistics department, his analytical approach and observation skills allow him to optimize processes and improve workflow. He enjoys working in a team and coming up with ideas to improve efficiency. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports, playing video games and spending time with his family.

Ivan

Logistics & Operations Leader

Iván Rodríguez is a cheerful person and always carries a smile. Originally from Tabasco, he has lived in Playa del Carmen for 14 years. Proud father of two children, he is passionate about soccer, technology and video games. A nature and wildlife lover, he is always looking for moments to disconnect and enjoy the natural world. At Dune, he is in charge of the daily operation, ensuring that everything runs smoothly with dedication and attention to detail.

Betty

Sanitation and Well-Being Supervisor

Bersabeth Pérez Vázquez, from Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, has been living in Playa del Carmen for two years. A nature and animal lover, she is passionate about protecting their rights and enjoys traveling and walking along the beach. She dreams of becoming a nurse to help others. Her positive energy and love for the ocean make her a wonderful presence.

Lucio

Instructor

Lucio Velasco Tadeo, originally from Oaxaca, has lived in Playa del Carmen for 19 years. He is a Catamaran Instructor and Windsurf Instructor, and started diving in 2004, becoming a certified instructor in 2009. In addition to his passion for water sports, he is a certified lifeguard and speaks some German and English. His dedication and experience in the water make him an excellent guide for those looking to explore the sea safely and enjoyably.

Killian

Instructor

Killian is from Bordeaux, France, where it’s too cold to work during the winter. After a couple of months in Playa del Carmen, he’s enjoying the warm weather and the lively diving scene. With 4 years of experience as an instructor, he’s also a lifeguard and has studied English literature. A CMAS, PADI, and SSI instructor, Killian loves exploring rocks and cenotes. He speaks English, French, and is learning Spanish to better connect with the local community and divers.

Vicente

Capitan de la Lady Claire

Vicente, our boat captain, is much more than just a sailor: he’s the true guardian of the oceans! With a smile as wide as the horizon and humor as refreshing as a sea breeze, he watches over our vessels with the discipline of a captain. When he's not navigating through the waves, he reminds us that the oceans aren’t trash bins and that even a small action matters in protecting them. In short, with Vicente at the helm, we feel safe, but always ready to laugh and discover the wonders of the sea!

Omar

Driver & Tankero

Omar Molina, originally from La Venta, Tabasco, assisting with dive equipment maintenance, store support, and customer transportation. Always with a smile, he strives to provide a comfortable and safe experience for every visitor. Passionate about video games and sports, he enjoys the dynamic environment at Dune. He dreams of becoming a dive instructor or a tour driver and learns something new every day to get closer to his goal.
