Advanced Open Water Silver Course Cozumel
Be a better diver and unlock new underwater adventures with our Advanced Open Water SILVER course! Over 3 days, you’ll boost your confidence and build your scuba skills, allowing for extended dive times and deeper exploration. This comprehensive package includes e-learning, scuba gear, 5 adventure dives and 1 fun dive.
This course features two mandatory dives: DEEP and NAVIGATION. After completing these, you can choose from a variety of other adventure dives based on your interests, including:
- Wreck Diving
- Drift Diving
- Night Diving
- Peak Performance Buoyancy
- Fish Identification
- Underwater Naturalist
- Search and Recovery Diver
This flexibility allows you to tailor your experience to suit your diving goals. Completing this course enables you to dive autonomously (with a buddy of equivalent or higher level) up to 30 meters deep, opening the door to explore the wonders of the marine world. Plus, all dives will be conducted in some of the most beautiful sites in Cozumel!
Pre-requisities :
- Be a PADI (Jr.) Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization)
- Be 12 years old for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver, and 15 years old for Advanced Open Water Diver.
- Fill out our PADI Medical Questionnaire. This form is to find out if you should be examined by your doctor before participating in recreational diver training. If any of the items in the Medical Questionnaire apply to you, you must consult a physician prior to participating in scuba diving.
What will I learn ?
The knowledge and skills you get in the Advanced Open Water Diver course vary with your interest and the adventures you have, but include:
Deep Dive :
- Practical aspects of deep diving.
- Physiological effects of deeper scuba diving.
- How to better use your dive computer
Underwater Navigation :
- Improve your abilities to use an underwater compass.
- How to navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.
The rest is up to you to choose among all the PADI adventure dives available in our center. (Obviously we do not offer ice diving…)
Get ready to dive deeper, stay longer, and explore more with this advanced diving experience.
Program and Schedule :
Day 1 :
- Meeting time: 1h30 pm
- Administrative formalities and equipment adjustment.
- First 2 dives from shore: Navigation and buoyancy check.
Day 2 :
- Meeting time: 8:45 am
- Deep dive
- Drift Dive
Exploration of Cozumel's magnificent marine park.
Day 3 :
- Meeting time: 8h45
- Last adventure dive to obtain certification of your choice: Fish ID , wreck
- Additional fun dive by boat in the Cozumel Marine Park.

Barracuda
The barracuda is impressive in that it sometimes stays still and waits for prey to approach during its hunting trips! With the adult measuring 80 cm in length on average, its streamlined silhouette and strong jaws make it clearly identifiable.
Moray eel
A snakelike fish, the moray eel is a shy creature that does not completely show itself. Hidden away in rocks and corals and with a body measuring up to 3 metres in length, it is only very rarely seen. From between the rocky walls, it lashes out to attack its prey at lightning speed, trapping it between its serrated jaws.
Octopus
The octopus is unmistakable and cannot be confused with any other ocean-swelling animal. Its eight tentacles lined with suction cups allow it to move smoothly and seek refuge if danger arises. Like a chameleon, it will readily change colour to blend in with the background!
