Ready for more than just reef diving? The Adventure Package: 4 Days - 7 Dives in Mexico - DUNE Mexico brings together four exciting underwater experiences across Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, and the Riviera Maya cenotes.
Designed for certified divers looking for variety, this four-day package combines Caribbean reefs, spectacular drift diving, crystal-clear cenotes, and a seasonal bull shark dive.
Available from November to March, the package includes one bull shark dive during the season, subject to availability and local conditions.
This package requires Advanced Open Water certification or an accepted equivalent. Additional site-specific requirements may apply.
What You’ll Experience
2 Reef Dives in Playa del Carmen
Explore Playa del Carmen’s colorful coral reefs, tropical fish, and diverse marine life. Depending on your experience and conditions, deeper reef sites or the Mama Viña wreck may also be possible.
2 Dives in Cozumel Marine Park
Experience Cozumel’s renowned drift diving, dramatic underwater walls, and rich marine biodiversity. Keep an eye out for nurse sharks, eagle rays, sea turtles, and the endemic splendid toadfish.
Ferry transportation to Cozumel is not included.
2 Cenote Dives
Discover the cenotes of the Riviera Maya, where crystal-clear freshwater, ancient limestone formations, stalactites, and striking natural light create a completely different underwater environment from the Caribbean reefs.
1 Seasonal Bull Shark Dive
From November to March, Playa del Carmen is known for seasonal bull shark encounters. Join a guided dive for the opportunity to observe these powerful animals in their natural environment and learn more about their role in the marine ecosystem.
Bull shark sightings are not guaranteed, and all encounters depend on local conditions, operational decisions, and responsible wildlife practices.

Four Days of Underwater Adventure
From Caribbean reefs and Cozumel’s drift dives to the hidden beauty of the cenotes and the possibility of encountering bull sharks, this package showcases the incredible diversity of diving in the Mexican Caribbean.
Join DUNE Mexico for a four-day adventure designed to make the most of your time underwater.
Dive sites and activities are subject to weather, currents, visibility, availability, certification, and experience. Special cenotes may involve additional fees. Bull shark sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Program and Schedule :
Day 1 – Playa del Carmen Reef Diving
- Meeting Time: 7:45 AM (morning dives) / 12:00 PM (afternoon dives) at Dune Mexico Dive Center
- Dive Sites: Local reefs in Playa del Carmen
- Return Time: 12:00 PM (morning dives) / 2:30 PM (afternoon dives)
Day 2 – Cozumel Marine Park Diving
- Ferry Departure: Take the 8:00 AM ferry from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel
- Arrival in Cozumel: Take a taxi to Dune Cozumel Dive Center
- Dive Sites: Stunning walls and reefs in Cozumel Marine Park
- End Time: Around 3:00 PM
Day 3 – Cenote Diving Adventure
- Meeting Time: 7:45 AM at Dune Mexico Dive Center
- Dive Sites: Two breathtaking cenotes in the jungle
- Return Time: Around 3:00 PM
Day 4- Bullshark Dive (Customize the order of this activity to fit your preference)
- Meeting time: 3:30pm at Dune Mexico Dive Center for extensive briefing
- Dive Sites: Shark Point
- Dive time: 5:00 pm
- Return Time: Around 6:00pm

Killian
Instructor
Killian is from Bordeaux, France, where it’s too cold to work during the winter. After a couple of months in Playa del Carmen, he’s enjoying the warm weather and the lively diving scene. With 4 years of experience as an instructor, he’s also a lifeguard and has studied English literature. A CMAS, PADI, and SSI instructor, Killian loves exploring rocks and cenotes. He speaks English, French, and is learning Spanish to better connect with the local community and divers.
Lucio
Instructor
Lucio Velasco Tadeo, originally from Oaxaca, has lived in Playa del Carmen for 19 years. He is a Catamaran Instructor and Windsurf Instructor, and started diving in 2004, becoming a certified instructor in 2009. In addition to his passion for water sports, he is a certified lifeguard and speaks some German and English. His dedication and experience in the water make him an excellent guide for those looking to explore the sea safely and enjoyably.

Bodeguero & Equipment Technician
Jonathan Hernandez is a cheerful, easy-going and helpful person, always ready to help and find solutions. In the logistics department, his analytical approach and observation skills allow him to optimize processes and improve workflow. He enjoys working in a team and coming up with ideas to improve efficiency. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports, playing video games and spending time with his family.

Box Fish
The boxfish is a uniquely shaped fish with a boxy, armored body covered in hexagonal plates. Often found near coral reefs, they are slow swimmers but fascinating to watch as they hover and forage for food. With their vibrant colors and gentle nature, boxfish are a captivating addition to any underwater encounter.
Bull Shark
The bull shark is a powerful, adaptable predator known for its ability to thrive in both salt and freshwater. Pregnant female bull sharks visit Mexico’s warm coastal waters near Playa del Carmen each winter, staying from November to March before migrating to freshwater areas to give birth. Their seasonal presence offers divers a rare chance to encounter these incredible sharks up close.
Lobster
Lobsters are fascinating crustaceans often spotted on night dives, hiding in crevices along coral reefs. Known for their long antennae and vibrant coloring, these creatures are skilled at navigating the reef’s rocky terrain. Observing a lobster’s graceful movements and unique features is always a memorable experience underwater.
