Experience a different side of Mexico with cenote snorkeling in Playa del Carmen. These natural freshwater pools, formed in the limestone landscape of the Yucatán Peninsula, offer a fascinating glimpse into a world of crystal-clear water, ancient rock formations, and dramatic underground scenery.
At Cenote Chikin Ha, discover two distinct cenote environments. The first is an open cenote where you can enjoy the natural surroundings and clear freshwater. The second is semi-open, allowing sunlight to filter into the water and illuminate beautiful rock formations, stalactites, stalagmites, and tree roots reaching down from above.
It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty and tranquillity of the Riviera Maya’s cenotes while appreciating their unique natural environment.
Looking for another extraordinary cenote experience? Cenote Dos Ojos is known for its clear water, striking limestone formations, and atmospheric light effects where sunlight enters through openings in the rock.
Depending on the activity offered and the access permitted, you may also be able to see an air-filled cavern area that adds another fascinating dimension to the experience.
The Dos Ojos excursion is available upon request, so please contact DUNE Mexico in advance to check availability and confirm the details.
Whether you choose Chikin Ha or request a visit to Dos Ojos, cenote snorkeling offers a memorable way to explore the natural beauty of the Riviera Maya beyond its beaches and coral reefs.
