4 Dives in Playa del Carmen
Explore Playa del Carmen’s vibrant reefs, home to colorful corals, tropical fish, sea turtles, and other Caribbean marine life. Depending on your certification, experience, and sea conditions, you may visit shallower reefs or explore deeper sites. The Mama Viña wreck may also be an option for suitably qualified and experienced divers.
2 Dives in Cozumel
Discover Cozumel’s renowned marine park, famous for its clear waters, dramatic coral walls, and drift diving. Keep an eye out for sea turtles, nurse sharks, eagle rays, and the splendid toadfish, an endemic species found naturally only around Cozumel.
Ferry transportation and any additional fees should be confirmed with DUNE Mexico before booking.
2 Dives in the Cenotes
Explore the cenotes of the Riviera Maya, where crystal-clear freshwater, ancient limestone formations, stalactites, and striking natural light create a completely different diving experience from the Caribbean reefs.
A Full Day of Whale Shark Snorkeling
From June to September, whale sharks may gather seasonally in the waters around the northern Yucatán Peninsula. Join a dedicated snorkeling excursion for the opportunity to observe these gentle giants in their natural environment as they feed on plankton.
The excursion may operate in the wider region around Isla Mujeres, Isla Contoy, or Holbox, depending on the operator, weather, and whale shark locations. Snorkeling arrangements follow applicable wildlife-protection rules, and sightings cannot be guaranteed.

The Dream Package combines eight scuba dives with a full day of whale shark snorkeling, offering a varied five-day experience across the Mexican Caribbean and Riviera Maya.
Explore the reefs of Playa del Carmen, enjoy Cozumel’s underwater scenery, discover freshwater cenotes, and spend a day looking for whale sharks with DUNE Mexico.
Package activities are subject to weather, currents, visibility, availability, wildlife conditions, and diver or snorkeler requirements. Special cenote dives may incur additional fees. Whale shark sightings and access to specific sites cannot be guaranteed.
Program and Schedule :
Day 1 & Day 2 – Playa del Carmen Reef Diving
- Meeting Time: 7:45 AM (morning dives) / 12:00 PM (afternoon dives) at Dune Mexico Dive Center
- Dive Sites: Colorful coral reefs teeming with marine life
- Return Time: 12:00 PM (morning dives) / 2:30 PM (afternoon dives)
Day 3 – Cozumel Marine Park Diving
- Ferry Departure: 8:00 AM ferry from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel
- Arrival in Cozumel: Short taxi ride to Dune Cozumel Dive Center
- Dive Sites: Breathtaking wall dives and vibrant reefs in a protected marine park
- Return Time: Around 3:00 PM
Day 4 – Cenote Diving Adventure
- Meeting Time: 7:45 AM at Dune Mexico Dive Center
- Dive Sites: Two stunning cenotes featuring crystal-clear waters and surreal light effects
- Return Time: Around 3:00 PM
Day 5 – Whale Shark Snorkeling Experience
- Meeting Time: Early morning departure, time depending wether you are in Playa del Carmen or Cancun.
- Activity: Snorkeling with the gentle giants near Isla Mujeres, a seasonal spectacle
- Return Time: Late Afternoon
The schedule is flexible and can be adjusted based on your preferences and our logistics. However, we suggest beginning with reef dives in Playa del Carmen to ease into the conditions before tackling Cozumel’s currents or the unique cenote environment. This progression ensures a smoother transition and enhances your overall experience.

Instructor
Mégane discovered diving in Mexico before heading to Bali, where she became an instructor after completing her Divemaster and IDC there. Now based in Playa del Carmen, she splits her time between the ocean and managing the dive center as Base Leader alongside Célia. Passionate, patient, and always smiling, she especially loves being underwater, where she can share her passion with divers of all levels.

Box Fish

Angelfish are vibrant, colorful reef fish known for their striking patterns and graceful swimming. Often found in warm, tropical waters, they inhabit coral reefs, where they feed on algae and small invertebrates. With their unique shapes and lively colors, angelfish are a delight to encounter while diving or snorkeling.
Eagle Ray
The eagle ray is a graceful, spotted marine ray known for its long wingspan and distinct, leopard-like spots. Often seen gliding through tropical waters, these rays are powerful swimmers, capable of making impressive leaps above the water. They feed mainly on mollusks and crustaceans, using their strong jaws to crush shells, and are a mesmerizing sight for divers.
